SUMMARY STATEMENT.• The Property Management Committee recommends that the resolution be passed to sell tax title property to
Whatcom County Public Works to effectively meet the legal requirement for the disposal; Because the lot is too small, it is not practical
to build on the property. Ref. RCW 36.35.150(2)

HEARING AND NOTICE OF HEARING ON
SALE OF COUNTY TAX TITLE PROPERTY
BY NEGOTIATION
REQUEST NO. 01 -05
1 WHEREAS, the following described property is now, and has been the property of
2 the County of Whatcom, State of Washington since: as noted per parcel below and,
3 W HEREAS, the Whatcom County Property Management Committee determined the
4 lot is not practical to build and recommends the property be sold by negotiation as per
S R.C.W. 36.35.150 (1) for no less than the principal taxes, interest, penalty, title search and
6 foreclosure costs; and,
7 WHEREAS, The principal taxes, interest, penalty, title search and foreclosure costs
8 total $300.00 and,
9 WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Property Management Committee recommends
10 its sale by negotiation to Whatcom County Public Works; and,
11 WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Council does deem it in the hest interest of the
12 County and the people thereof that said property be sold for no less than the principal
13 taxes, interest, penalty, title search and foreclosure costs; and,
!4 WHEREAS, Resolution 95 -005 designated the Whatcom County Treasurer as
15 negotiator in such sales; and,
16 WHEREAS, RCW 36.35.120 requires the Council to establish the minimum price for
17 said units of property and to determine whether or not a contract will be allowed, or if it will
18 be a cash price;
19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that it is in the best interest of the County
20 to sell to Whatcom County Public Works for a price to be negotiated by the Whatcom
21 County Treasurer, the following Tax -Title property acquired 0212611988, Tax foreclosure
22 case #1579:

34 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Whatcom County Council, that a public hearing on
35 the matter of the sale of said property, under said terms, be held on the 27"' day of
36 September, 2005, at 7 p.m., at the rmintV ('nnnri 1 Mamhp_rs , Whatcom
37 County, Washington; and,
38 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the Whatcom County Council shall
39 give notice of such hearing in the manner prescribed by law under RCW 36.34.030.
