TO SET HEARING AND
NOTICE OF HEARING OF THE
SALE OF COUNTY TAX TITLE PROPERTY
BY NEGOTIATION
REQUEST NO. TR2006 -08

WHEREAS, the following described property is
now, and has been
the property of

Whatcom,
State of Washington
since:

and,
3 WHEREAS, the adjacent property owners were notified prior to tax foreclosure sale
4 of the same date and no acceptable bids were received; and,
5 WHEREAS, The Whatcom County Property Management Committee determined
6 that it is not practical to build on the property and recommends the resolution be passed to
7 effectively meet the legal requirement for the disposal by negotiation per RCW
8 36.35.150(2)

12 For no less than the principal taxes, interest, penalties, title search and foreclosure
13 costs of $1.37
14 and,
15 WHEREAS, The principal taxes, interest, penalties, title search and foreclosure
16 costs total $1.37 and,
17 WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Property Management Committee recommends
18 its sale by negotiation; and,
19 WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Council does deem it in the best interest of the
20 County and the people thereof that said property be sold for no less than the principal
21 taxes, interest, penalties, title search and foreclosure costs; and,
22 WHEREAS, Resolution 95 -005 designated the Whatcom County Treasurer as
23 negotiator in such sales; and,
24 WHEREAS, RCW 36.35.120 requires the Council to establish the minimum price for
25 said units of property and to determine whether or not a contract will be allowed, or if it will
26 be a cash price;
27 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that it is in the best interest of the County
28 to sell for a price to be negotiated by the Whatcom County Treasurer, the following Tax -
29 Title property acquired 12/06/1948,

33 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Whatcom County Council, that a public
34 hearing on the matter of the sale of said property, under said terms, be held on
35 the 14 day of March 2006, at 7:00 p.m., at the Courthouse
36 Whatcom County, Washington; and,
37 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the Whatcom County Council shall
38 give notice of such hearing in the manner prescribed by law under RCW 36.34.030.
