Supplemental #14 requests funding from the General Fund.
(1) To appropriate $11,300 to PDS to fund Fire Marshall wildfire education to the public.
(2) To appropriate $10,500 to the Sheriffs Office to fund reimbursable overtime through the Pacific
Northwest Highway Interdiction Program.
(3) To appropriate $17, 731 to the Law Library /Prosecutor to fund additional books and subscriptions
from unanticipated fee revenue.
Requests funding from the Whatcom County Jail Fund.
(4) To appropriate $353,611 to fund operating costs for the remainder of 2006 for the new minimum-
security work center.
(5) To appropriate $72,894 to fund 5 main jail deputies for the remainder of 2006 hired as a part of the
transitional staffing plan.
Requests funding from the Public Utilities Improvement Fund.
(6) To appropriate $300,000 in EDI Grant Funds to WSUfor construction of a regional agricultural
research center.

ORDINANCE NO. 2006 -047
AMENDMENT NO. 14 OF THE 2006 BUDGET
WHEREAS, the 2005 -2006 budget was adopted November 9, 2004; and,
WHEREAS, changing circumstances require modifications to the approved 2005 -2006
budget; and,
WHEREAS, the modifications to the budget have been assembled here for deliberation by
the Whatcom County Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Whatcom County Council that the 2005-
2006 Whatcom County Budget Ordinance #2004 -059 is hereby amended by adding the
following additional amounts to the budgets included therein:
