"WWRM SPONSORED BY: Consent PROPOSED BY: Consent INTRODUCTION DATE: 113105 ORDINANCE NO. 2005 -069 ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A FEE FOR MANDATORY ARBITRATION TO OFFSET THE COST OF THE PROGRAM WHEREAS, the Washington State Legislature has authorized local jurisdictions to establish a filing fee not to exceed $220.00 to offset the cost of the mandatory arbitration program; and, WHEREAS, Whatcom County does have such a program which involves costs to the County; and, WHEREAS, the actual cost of this arbitration program is $250.00 per filing; and, WHEREAS, the filing fee of $220.00 will be used to offset the actual cost of this program but will not exceed the cost of this program so as to be a means of raising general revenues. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Whatcom County Council that: In the Whatcom County Superior Court there shall be established a filing fee of two hundred twenty dollars ($220.00) for the filing of a statement of arbitrability. This fee should be added to the Uniform Fee Schedule.
