To comply with RCW 46.61.415 it is necessary and expedient to modify the speed limit on Gulf Road.
Results of an engineering review conducted by the County Engineer's office, found that Point Roberts
Elementary School has been relocated to a different location. Ordinance 92 -82 shall be amended to remove
the school speed limit zone on Gulf Road

ORDINANCE NO. 2005 -051
AN ORDINANCE REMOVING AN EXISTING
SCHOOL SPEED LIMIT ON GULF ROAD
WHEREAS, in compliance with RCW 46.61.415, it is found necessary and expedient
to modify the speed limit on Gulf Road; and
WHEREAS, an engineering review was conducted by the County Engineer's office,
and Point Roberts Elementary School has been relocated to a different location; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Whatcom County Council that
Ordinance 92 -82 be amended as follows:
Remove the school speed zone that was established for Blaine School District for the
temporary Point Roberts Elementary School on Gulf Road due to the relocation of the school.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the County Engineer is hereby directed to remove
the appropriate signs and that the Whatcom County Sheriff be notified by a copy of this
ordinance.
Provisions of this ordinance are hereby removed from Whatcom County Code, Section
10.04.095, pertaining to Point Roberts Elementary School speed zone.
