SUMMARYSTATEMENT:
The Maple Falls Elementary School was renamed Kendall
Elementary School and relocated to 7547 Kendall Road, State Route
547. Recommend removing existing school zone speed limit at
previous location on Silver Lake Road.

AN ORDINANCE REMOVING AN EXISTING
SCHOOL SPEED LIMIT ON SILVER LAKE ROAD
WHEREAS, in compliance with RCW 46.61.415, it is found necessary and expedient to
modify the speed limit on Silver Lake Road; and
WHEREAS, an engineering review was conducted by the County Engineer's office; and
Maple Falls Elementary School has been relocated to a different location.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Whatcom County Council that
Ordinance 82 -65 be amended as follows:
Remove the school speed zone that was established for Maple Falls Elementary School on Silver
Lake Road due to the relocation of the school.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the County Engineer is hereby directed to remove the
appropriate signs and that the Whatcom County Sheriff be notified by a copy of this ordinance.
Provisions of this ordinance are hereby removed from Whatcom County Code, Section
10.04.095: pertaining to Maple Falls Elementary School speed zone.
