ORDINANCE NO. 2005 -028
AMENDMENT NO. 2 OF THE 2005 BUDGET
WHEREAS, the 2005 -2006 budget was adopted November 9, 2004; and,
WHEREAS, changing circumstances require modifications to the approved 2005 -2006
budget; and,
WHEREAS, the modifications to the budget have been assembled here for deliberation by
the Whatcom County Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Whatcom County Council that the 2005-
2006 Whatcom County Budget Ordinance #2004 -059 is hereby amended by adding the
following additional amounts to the budgets included therein:

Subject: Budget Supplemental Request — Consulting Services for Kendall project
Date: January 28, 2005
Please find attached a budget modification request for spending authority for the
remainder of a grant Whatcom County received from the U.S.D.A. (Rural
Communities Assistance Program "RCAP ").
Grant funds have been used to support a Feasibility Study in Eastern Whatcom
County for a possible Community Resource Center. This project is now moving
into Phase II and spending authority is needed for the remainder of the grant.

Whatcom County received a Rural Cortmmnity Development Program grant from the
U.S. Forest Service /U.S.D.A. which has been used to contract with a consultant
for the purposes of completing a twq�.phase feasibility study for a Cortmunity
Resource Center in the Kendall /North Fork area of eastern Whatcom County.
We are requesting expenditure authority for 2005, since this project is still
not complete.
