The attached Resolution Declaring Intent to Consider Vacating the terminus end of Trigg Road, which is
unopened and un- maintained, is submitted per RCW 58.17 & 36.87 and WCC 1 -72.
Public Works recommends adoption of this resolution. Adoption will trigger the County Engineer to report
on the proposed vacation at a future Council meeting. Once the County Engineer's report is submitted, a
public hearing will be scheduled, and actual road vacation will be considered by Council under a separate
resolution.

RESOLUTION NO. 2007 -051
A RESOLUTION IN THE MATTER OF CONSIDERING
VACATING A PORTION OF TRIGG ROAD
WHEREAS, on September 12, 2007; Public Utility District No. 1 of Whatcom County, 1705 Trigg
Road, Femdale, Washington 98248, and others, submitted a petition for the vacation of a portion of Trigg
Road lying within the unincorporated area of Whatcom County, accompanied by the penal sum of $682.00,
and,
WHEREAS, as described in RCW 36.87.010, when a county road or any part thereof is considered
useless the Whatcom County Council may declare its intention to formally consider vacation, by resolution.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that it is the intention of Whatcom County Council to
consider vacation of the following described right of way:
A strip of land located in the southeast quarter of the southeast quarter of Section 8, Township 39
North, Range 2 East of W.M., described as follows:
A strip of land 14 feet wide on the west side of the section line between sections 8 and 9 and
beginning at the Southeast Comer of Seetion 8 and extending 581 feet North,
Also a strip of land 16 feet wide along the East side of the Section line between Sections 8 and 9 and
beginning at the South West Corner of Section 9 and extending North a distance of 581 feet,
Except any portion of Trigg Road as deeded or dedicated and adjoining the South lines of Sections 8
and 9 as may now exist.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Engineer investigate and report to the County
Council on the matter of the proposed vacation of a portion of Trigg Road so that the Council may set
Avlolia&, ng on the matter for October 23, 2007.
