Unanticipated conditions at the project site and cost overruns due to public pressure regarding safety of the detour route have
necessitated a change order. Additional construction costs for this work will be processed through a change order in the
amount of $376,110.85. The attached resolution defines reallocation of funds ivithin the budget to cover the increase and
will raise the total construction contract amount with Colacurcio Brothers Construction Company, Inc., to $2,611,671.35,
hoivever this will not exceed the overall approved project budget.

A RESOLUTION AMENDING
COUNTY ROAD PROJECT NO. 999022,
"CABLE STREET, PHASE [I-- -CABLE STREET RECONSTRUCTION"
WHEREAS, Whatcom County Resolution 2007 -014 authorized the expenditure of
$2,885,560.50 for Cable Street Reconstruction with $2,235,560.50 designated for the
construction contract with Colacurcio Brothers Construction Company, Inc., and
WHEREAS, additional unanticipated conditions and costs were incurred for construction to
support increased hours and cost overruns in flagging in response to public safety
concerns of the detour route, additional signage, and stormwater system changes as a
result of unforeseen utility conflicts, and accommodations to homeowners with lots fronting
Cable Street;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Whatcom County Council hereby
authorizes an estimated $372,110.85 in additional construction funds to increase the
construction contract with Colacurcio Brothers Construction Company, Inc., to
$2,611,671.35 as follows:
