RESOLUTION 2007 -029
REPEALING RESOLUTION 79 -5 AND APPOINTING THE COUNTY COUNCIL
CHAIRPERSON, COUNTY TREASURER, AND COUNTY AUDITOR AS WHATCOM
COUNTY ADMINISTRATIVE FINANCE COMMITTEE
WHEREAS, Revised Code of Washington 36.48.070 in 1979 provided that a county finance
committee consist of the county treasurer, the county auditor, and the chairman of the board of
county commissioners;
AND WHEREAS, Resolution 79 -5 appointed the county executive to serve on this committee
when the Whatcom County Board of County Commissioners was abolished due to the adoption
of the Whatcom County Charter;
AND WHEREAS, Revised Code of Washington 36.48.070 was amended in 1991 and changed
the committee membership to be the county treasurer, the county auditor, and.chairman of the
county legislative authority;
AND WHEREAS, Resolution 79 -5 is in conflict with Revised Code of Washington 36.48.070;
NOW, TTEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Whatcom County Council,
Resolution 79 -5 is repealed and the chair of the county legislative authority, the county
treasurer, and the county auditor shall serve as members of the County Administrative Finance
Committee in accordance with Revised Code of Washington 36.48.070.
