Project Based Budget Request No. 1 for CRP #905003
Slater Road - Nooksack River Bridge
WHEREAS, the 2008 -2013 Six Year Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) was
adopted September 11, 2007; and the 2008 Annual Construction Program (ACP) was adopted
by Resolution 2007 -055 on October 23, 2007, and
WHEREAS, a County Road Project identified as No. 905003 titled "Slater Road -
Nooksack River Bridge" is listed as project priority no. 12 on the STIP and no. 13 on the
ACP, and
WHEREAS, this is a multi -year capital project requiring budget approval,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, that the project numbered CRP #905003
(Slater Road) be approved with an initial project budget of $170,000.00 as described in
Attachment "A ", and
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED THAT, the County Executive shall have authority to
enter into contracts on behalf of the County to complete this project, and
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED THAT, this authority shall be for the duration of the
project, and the status of the project shall be reported to the Executive and Council in the
format shown on Attachment "A" quarterly until completion.

*Expenditures under the DEA contract which were funded by the base budget are not included in this request.
Note: Project costs will be based upon actual hours of project management effort expended by the County and by
consultants managed by the County for this project. The cost of right -of -way and property will be determined by the
real estate manager, and professional property appraisal companies.
Per the interlocal agreement with LIBC, Whatcom County will not incur any unreimbursable project costs through the
first $3,000,000 of project expenditures.
