Ordinance reducing the Parks & Recreation Department Is Pefly Cash Revolving Fund in the amount of S3,225.00 to a totalfund
balance of S4,700.00.
The currentfund level can be reduced and continue to meet the State Auditor's recommendation to limit access to diangefunds to
ensure accountability offunds.
The Fund will be assigned asfollows.

10 REVISION TO THE ORDINANCE TO REDUCE THE WHATCOM COUNTY PARKS AND
11 RECREATION DEPARTMENT PETTY CASH REVOLVING FUND

13 WHEREAS, on June 3, 2003 Whatcom County Ordinance NO. 2003 -037 increased the
14 Parks and Recreation Department's Petty Cash Revolving Fund to SEVEN THOUSAND NINE
15 HUNDRED TWENTY -FIVE DOLLARS ($7,925.00); and
16 WHEREAS, the State Auditor's Office recommended that access to change funds in the
17 Parks and Recreation Department be limited to ensure accountability of funds; and
18 WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Department re- evaluated the procedure seasonal
1_9 employees use to collect revenue at park facilities; and
20 WHEREAS, the current fund level can be reduced and continue to meet the State
21 Auditor's recommendation to limit access to change funds;
22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Whatcom County Council that the Whatcom
23 County Parks and Recreation Department's Petty Cash Revolving Fund shall be reduced in the
24 amount of THREE THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED TWENTY -FIVE DOLLARS (3,225.00) to a total of
25 FOUR THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED DOLLARS (4,700.00) and assigned as follows:

27 Silver Lake Park $1,20E).90 800.00
28 Hovander Homestead Park $275.99 $100.00
29 Plantation Rifle Range $'e $2,000.00

36 BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the Whatcom County Parks and Recreation Department
37 is hereby authorized to return the amount of $3,225.00 to the Whatcom County Treasurer to
38 bring the available fund balance to $4,700.00.
