INTRODUCED BY: Consent PROPOSED BY: County Executive DATE: January 16, 2007 ORDINANCE NO. 2007 -005 AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE EXTENSION OF THE 2006 UNIFIED FEE SCHEDULE FOR 60 DAYS OR UNTIL ADOPTION OF THE 2007 UNIFIED FEE SCHEDULE WHEREAS, on December 5, 2006 the Whatcom County Council adopted an Emergency Ordinance authorizing the extension of the 2006 Unified Fee Schedule for 60 days or until adoption of the 2007 Unified Fee Schedule; and WHEREAS, the adoption of the 2007 Unified Fee Schedule has been delayed to allow time for additional review and discussion; and WHEREAS, the Emergency Ordinance will expire before the adoption of the 2007 Unified Fee Schedule will take place; and WHEREAS, Section 2.40 of the Whatcom County Charter allows for the adoption of an Emergency Ordinance when necessary for the support of county government; and WHEREAS, it is imperative for the continued financial support of county government to have a fee schedule in effect, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED AND ESTABLISHED by the Whatcom County Council that the 2006 Unified Fee Schedule will remain in effect for 60 days or until the 2007 `U $ tVq, Schedule is adopted, whichever comes first.
