SUMMARY STATEMENT OR LEGAL NOTICE LANGUAGE:
Funding is being sought from Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife (WDFW) to modify existing windows in the Indoor Range
meeting room to reduce noise generated at the adjacent firing line. $962 .74 is being requested with Parks providing $ 1271 .68 of in-kind
labor to handle the installation.

RESOLUTION # 2010-029
AUTHORIZING WHATCOM COUNTY'S APPLICATION FOR A SHOOTING RANGE
DEVELOPMENT GRANT WITH WASHINGTON DEPARTMENT OF FISH & WILDLIFE
WHEREAS, the Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife has authorized financial assistance for the
development of shooting ranges for public purposes; and
WHEREAS, the County' s proposed project titled "Indoor Range Meeting Room Sound Reduction" is
consistent and compatible with all adopted plans and programs for safe shooting range development;
WHEREAS, Whatcom County considers it in the best public interest to complete the project titled "Indoor
Range Meeting Room Sound Reduction;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Whatcom County Council that:
1 . The County Executive is hereby authorized to make formal application to the Washington Department
of Fish & Wildlife for funding assistance;
2 . Any funding assistance received shall be used for implementation of the project referenced above; and
3 . Whatcom County hereby certifies that its share of project funding is committed and will be derived
from Parks & Recreation Department ' s fixed labor.
