2012 Project Budget Request #1 requests funding from Real Estate Excise Tax Fund II:
(1) To appropriate $240,000 to fund next phase of Lighthouse Marine Park dock replacement project
from grant proceeds.

ORDINANCE NO. 2011 - 057
PROJECT BUDGET NO. 1 OF THE 2012 BUDGET
WHEREAS , Whatcom County has been approved to receive $240 , 000 in State grant funding
for the replacement of the floating boat dock, piles and associated accessibility improvements
at Lighthouse Marine Park; and
WHEREAS , Whatcom County has previously appropriated $80 , 000 in REET II funding in a
project budget for this dock replacement project, and
WHEREAS , the Parks Department requests to receive appropriation authority for the grant
funding and begin the permitting phase of this project, and
WHEREAS , Section 6 . 80 of the Whatcom County Home Rule Charter allows for project-
based capital budget appropriation ordinances that lapse when the project has been completed
or abandoned or when no expenditure or encumbrance has been made for three (3) years ,
NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT ORDAINED by the Whatcom County Council that the following
capital budget appropriation is hereby approved :
