ORDINANCE NO . 2011 -023
REPEALING ORDINANCE # 2011 - 002, WHICH IMPOSED AN INTERIM
MORATORIUM ON THE ACCEPTANCE OF NEW APPLICATIONS FOR
SUBDIVISIONS AND SHORT SUBDIVISIONS IN RURAL AREAS
WHEREAS, on January 25 , 2011 , the Whatcom County Council adopted Ordinance
# 2011 - 002 to impose an interim moratorium on the acceptance of new applications for
subdivisions and short subdivisions in rural areas of Whatcom County while it reviewed the
Comprehensive Plan , existing zoning densities, and development codes to permanently
address areas of more intensive rural development in the county ; and
WHEREAS, on April 26 , 2011 , the Council concluded its review of the Whatcom
County Comprehensive Plan and maps, and the Whatcom County Zoning Code and maps ,
and introduced an ordinance to implement necessary changes relating to rural land use
planning ; and
WHEREAS, on May 10 , 2011 , the Council adopted Ordinance # 2011 - 013 , approving
new regulations related to rural land use planning in Whatcom County ; and
WHEREAS, with adoption of Ordinance # 2011 - 013 , the interim regulations imposed
by Ordinance # 2011 - 002 are no longer necessary .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the Whatcom County Council that
Ordinance # 2011 - 002 in hereby repealed in its entirety upon the effective date of this
